Cinematic Edit Check

Know whether your video feels cinematic or like a slideshow, with numbers your editor can fix.

Contentone skill · course includedversion 2026-11-03Model tested: claude-sonnet-5-5, 2026-11-03, pass
After the first use you have

A pass or fail report on your edit for motion, pacing, cuts, sound, loudness, color, and structure, with the fix for every failure.

The fastest way to make a video feel cheap is a frame the eye can rest on. A row of still frames reads as a slideshow, however good each one is.

This skill turns cinematic editing into checks you can measure: camera motion per shot, shot length, how cuts land, how sound is layered, loudness, and grade. If your AI can run code, it measures; if not, it gives you the commands and reads your results.

It also checks story structure for property and travel films and for documentary-style video.

It asks you for
  • The video file or the edit list
  • What the video is for and where it runs
  • Whether your AI can run code on the file (ffmpeg and Python)
You get
  • Verdict
  • Gate table
  • Structure review
  • Top three fixes

60-second test

Check it works

  1. Paste the prompt into any AI chat.
  2. Answer: "60-second property film, 14 shots, I cannot run code."
  3. Check you get the commands to measure motion and loudness, not guessed numbers.
  4. Check the gate table lists targets for motion, shot length, cuts, sound, loudness, and grade.
  5. Pass if each failed check comes with a specific fix.
